At the 2000 ADGA Convention, the Tester Training Program
was presented in a three-session format. The first General or General Information
Session was held in the afternoon. The second session, featuring the DRPCs, was
held the following morning. The third session was a Hands on Sampling and
Recording Session.
The following program is provided as a sample only. Not
every presentation needs to be repeated annually, and the ADGA Production Committee
will specify the presenters for each session.

On Sampling/Recording Session
This session featured a simulated milking area including milk stand, scales, dipper, sample bottles, meters (optional), and goat.
Room
and Audiovisual Needs for the Sampling/Recording Session
This session requires an outdoor, open area close to the classroom area. At the end of the milking/sampling session, participants return to the classroom to complete a written test.
The
outdoor area must be large enough to accommodate the milking demonstration and
spectators. It should have a table plus two clothing or other racks to hang
scales on. The milk stand and goat are to be provided by the local host group
(per Letter of Agreement). The DHI equipment (scales, buckets, dippers, meters)
should be sent ahead to the hotel site by presenters (there will be shipping
and hotel costs here) or provided by Production Committee members.
The
classroom must seat approximately 50 people. An overhead projector and screen
may be needed.
Additional
Information
The registration fee for the Production Tester Training Program covered the costs of the Tester Training. In future years, the fee may need to cover transportation if the Program is held offsite. This will be determined by whether there are local DHI resources and other factors.
