#1 Q: Do kids have to be registered to be appraised?
#1 A: Youngstock (does that are over 2 months and under 2 yrs of age and have
never freshened & bucks that are over 2 months and under 1 year of age) do
not
necessarily need to be registered but they are required to be tattooed.
Youngstock appraisal is optional.
#2 Q: Revisions or registrations have recently been completed but the
papers have not yet been received through the mail. What can be done?
#2 A: A copy of the registration certificate for adult animals is allowed. You can request that a faxed copy be sent for use at the linear appraisal
session.
#3 Q: If I am a transport herd to a host stop, do I have to bring all of my
eligible does?
#3 A: Yes, all does that meet the requirements in the guidebook must be
transported. You cannot pick and choose which does to bring.
#4 Q: I am having one breed appraised, but I would like a buck appraised that is of a different breed. Can I do that?
#4 A: No. Optional animals (bucks and youngstock) can only be appraised if
that
breed is also being appraised that day.
#5 Q: The appraiser took pictures at my session. Does that mean that the
score on that animal will change?
#5 A: Not necessarily, the ADGA Linear Appraisal committee is taking pictures
of
any animal scoring 93 or above.
#6 Q: Does ADGA arrange the host sessions?
#6 A: No, ADGA will assist in letting you know which herds are accepting
transport
herds in your area, but the contacting and arrangement of the session is
up
to the participants.
