Suggested Classes and Winners

The base date for computing the age of the animal shall be the day the animal is to be judged
unless otherwise stated by a Fair board in its rules governing livestock.

  •  JUNIOR DIVISION – (JUNIOR DOE Show OR Junior Division of COMBINED JR./SR. DOE Show)
    The Junior Division consists of does under 24 months of age that are NOT in milk and have never freshened.
    Either of the following are acceptable with number (1) preferred.

A Junior Grand Champion and Reserve Junior Grand Champion shall be selected at an ADGA sanctioned
Junior Doe Show. A Junior Champion and Reserve Junior Champion (eligible to compete for Grand Champion
and Reserve Grand Champion) shall be selected in the ADGA sanctioned Junior Division of a Combined
Jr./Sr. Doe Show. If sanctioned, the Best Doe in Show class should also be listed.

  • SENIOR DIVISION – (SENIOR DOE Show OR Senior Division of COMBINED JR./SR. DOE Show)
    The Senior Division consists of does 24 months of age or over that have ever freshened or are in milk. This
    includes dry milkers.

A Senior Champion and Reserve Senior Champion (eligible to compete for Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion) shall be selected in the ADGA sanctioned Senior Division of a Combined Jr./Sr. Doe Show. If sanctioned, the Best Doe in Show and Champion Challenge classes should also be listed. At least as many milking classes as junior classes should be provided, in order to have a well-balanced show. Classes in the Senior Division should be designated by age and not by freshenings, such as “first fresheners.” A class especially for dry milkers is not recommended as it is permissible for them to be shown in the milking classes. O BUCK SHOW – Junior and Senior Divisions are not separately sanctioned.
