Update: 2022 DHIR Lactation Reports

2022 DHIR Herds

Re: 2022 DHIR Accepted Lactation Reports

June 5, 2023

In April of 2023 the American Dairy Goat Association successfully imported the remaining awards that were being processed and stored in ROSS to the new NG software. The bulk of these awards were related to production achievements earned in 2021 and some of 2022 through DHIR (*M, *B, +*B, etc.). Currently, no new lactation reports or awards are being stored in ROSS.
Traditionally, this is the time of year that the production edit reports are sent to participating herds from the previous DHIR lactation year containing a list of lactations that have been accepted and recognized by ADGA. At this time ADGA cannot generate the production edit report until the DHIR programming is complete in NG. Once the DHIR programming for NG is complete, ADGA can resume processing doe pages and completed lactation reports for award recognition.
As a reminder, all DHIR information from your monthly test day goes to the Council on Dairy Cattle Breeding (CDCB) before it is received by ADGA. Monthly milk weights and herd information can be viewed on the The Council of Dairy Cattle Breeding (uscdcb.com) 7-10 days after your milk test. ADGA only receives this information at the end of the lactation. Your monthly milk test information is safely stored in the CDCB archives and ADGA will be able to retrieve those records once the DHIR programming is complete.
There has not been a timeline established for the completion of DHIR or awards process programming. Programming development time is prioritized for the needs of the entire organization. ADGA recognizes the value of milk testing through DHIR and encourages you to monitor your monthly reports that come in the mail after your test day or online through the CDCB animal query portal. We are looking forward to the enhancements that are coming to DHIR once the programming in NG is complete!
