Upcoming Changes to DNA Order Pricing
We want to inform you about upcoming changes to DNA order pricing. Every three years, the agreement between ADGA and the Veterinary Genetics Laboratory (VGL) for DNA services is updated to reflect current costs and available testing services for ADGA members. As we approach the renewal of this contract, ADGA has sought bids from four different vendors to ensure our members receive the best combination of services and pricing available.
When evaluating potential vendors, we considered several factors:
- Order submission process
- Result turnaround time
- Result database infrastructure
- Access to current DNA and diagnostic tests
After thoroughly reviewing all bids, VGL will continue to be our DNA services provider for the next contract period. We anticipate a change in pricing to take effect around August 1, 2024.
We will provide a detailed update soon with the new prices for each test type. If you have animals that need sampling, there is still time to order your tests at the current ADGA rates. Stay tuned for more information and thank you for your continued support.
